You messed with the wrong MoFo!

I'm just done. Seriously, people, you've pissed off the wrong girl. Super Biotch is back in town!!

You are probably saying to yourself right now "whaaa??" or "why so serious?". I had a very very bad day today. This bad day came on the heels of a horrible week, so what ever patience I once had was long gone. I was keeping it together pretty well, and then... someone had to open up their big mouth. And now, I'm just pissed! If you know me well, you know that pissing me off is a seriously bad idea. But, my kids were awake and really worried about my "angry mommy" face so I decided that it was a good time to run... like NOW!
So I pulled out Work-Out 3...

Aubrie was taking the pics, so I put on my silly faces for her.

Let me tell you, anger is the greatest motivator EVER! I ran and ran and ran... I ran the full 3 miles, without stopping. I was so busy being pissed, that I didn't even realize that I'd been doing this until 2.2 miles. Just to give you an idea of how long it took me to run the 3 miles, I ran thru the full Twilight soundtrack... the whole thing! Crazy, eh? You know what the best part is?? I'm still super pissed! I'm not even a little bit over it.

Moral of the story? I run hard when I want to kick the sh** out of people, and if you are the one I want to kick the sh** out of... Run. Run very very fast.

On a more upbeat note, I want to draw your attention to a few key areas of the above pics:

1. Do you people see the amount of side boob I have?! Its almost obscene!

2. That darkish spot near my crotch is JUST crotch sweat... this time

3. I have a lot of chins. Its just a fact.

Until next week... fear the Burpees!!

You may hate me after this... W.O. C. #2

(Multiple people doing 1 workout can get you 1 point per person). This can be done together with you, or if they do the workout separately because you asked them to. I must have details for final points.

Conclusion...
The points can get insane this week! Hard work will be rewarded. BUT I want you guys to be careful. Don't hurt yourselves. Know your limits, and listen to your body. You have to push yourself, but you don't want to over do. Also, make sure you are paying attention to form, and being honest. For example: Slouchy push ups are not really push ups. They can hurt you and shouldn't get points. Do what you can do, and do it correctly- to be safe. Also have fun! It is something different every workout. The workouts do not have to be done in order. And you do not HAVE to do them all. Its all about self motivation this week. As always, ask me if you have any questions. And let me know if you need anything. (Dark Crystal- tape your knees this week! They will need the support! :)

-L.

PS- STRETCH! and WARM UP/COOL DOWN! I didn't include it in the workout because you guys should be doing it on your own no matter what. Don't get yourselves injured by rushing through these steps!

Is this what Hell is like?

I bet EVERYONE in Hell is skinny!  There, I got that out. I feel better.

I'm FINALLY done with the workout challenges!!! This week.  Awe man!!! It was a ROUGH week to say the least.  But, I have had almost NO craving for soda so that's a plus.  Also, I literally worked my butt off.  You will see proof of this later.

By the way,  the reason the pants fit weird in the pic is because I have knee supports on BOTH knees.  Also, I don't know if Adam is just SOOOO trained or if its true but he says the pics are not accurate of real life so I might just stop by to show you and get a REAL opinion.  Weird?  Phew.  Oh good.  I've heard of this SAU club and I was considering joining.

Measurements:

Weight- 139 (WHAT!? I'm adding the prayer method next week!)
Chest- 34 (-0.5)
Bust- 35.5 (same, yeah lets not lose anymore there please)
Waist- 30.5 (-1.5)
Belly- 35.5 (-0.5)
Hips- 37.5 (-0.5)
Butt- 40 (-1.5 see its smaller!)
Thighs- 22 (same)
Arms- 11 (-0.5)

Husband compliments- Ok so I had AT LEAST 5 this week alone so do what you will with that.

Diet- 100%
Exercise- ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!  4 days.

Oh and by the way, I did a workout today and did a sprint at the end of 1/4 mile so just puttin that out there.  Um yeah.  I'm awesome.  And sore.

My plan next week is to add some Hail Mary's and Hallelujahs.  So we will see.  I'm putting it in Gods hands.  Just kidding!!!  I'm going to do whatever torture Lauren has planned and try to keep on my diet plan.  And maybe sleep more?  Yeah that sounds good.
Does anybody else think... "now THAT is attractive"...?

Here are my stats from last week (1/24 - 1/30):
Weight: 180.0 lbs ... yep, a 0.8lb gain :(
Measurements:
Chest - 36.75" ... -1"
Bust - 40" ... -1"
Hips - 42" ... :\
Butt - 42.75" ... -.25"
Thighs - -.25"
Arms - 12.5" ... same
Nutrition Plan: 95% (went over on points by like 5)
Exercise: 4 days so 100%
So, as you can see, my hips really really LOVE the size they are... awesome.
My goal for the next few weeks is to workout HARDER, drop my points a little, since I'm not nursing as much, and get my posts up on Mondays! Only time will tell...

Its cool to pee your pants!

This is me... ... after workout #2... BEFORE the vomiting.

Tonight was hard and I am not feeling any "runners high" right now. BUT! I completed the full work-out, as it was written, with no shortening of runs or lengthening of walks AND all at 4.5 mph. I freakin hurt!

I'm way too wasted to calculate points right now, but I'm sure my most amazing sister will take care of that for me...

So, you might be wondering about the title to my post... I noticed that during my workout, my lady parts were getting a bit damp... and NOT in a good way Twin! Anyway, I'm about 93.5% sure that I did NOT pee my pants... well maybe 82.3% (Hey! I have 4 kids!!)...

Tired

Is this weekend over yet?? I didn't get to my workout until 9pm tonight! I now know how Crystal feels working out so late! I didn't have time until now, and I think I did pretty good because my mom and sisters are in town and I was just so ready for bed, but the thought of getting more points dragged me to the rec. My little sister came too....a bonus!

Lets see workout #3: 4pt
Ran at pace of 4.2: 1pt (this about killed me! But I kept going. I had to shorten my running times down but I really wanted to get that 1 bonus point!!!)
Sprints: Nope...maybe if we have it in another challenge I can try them...but can you seriously imagin all of this weight sprinting?? A whole lot of jelly boucin'!
Posting Pic: 1pt
Posting period: 1pt
Finishing the challenge before Saturday: 1pt (Just barely!)
Additional workouts: 3pt (I don't intend to do any workouts tomorrow, I will be moving so my body won't freeze up on me but I am going to take a break--then Monday will be just as hard!)
Total: 11pt

Complete total for week: 26pt Darn I missed my lunch date with Lauren by 4pts. Oh well...I think over all I did a fabulous job!

I have been meaning to take a picture of my sweat....yes my sweat! I think I build up a good bit, even when I wipe down myself. So do you see the slightly darker black around the neck??? Usually by the time I get home, I have cooled off enough and it's gone. So I just wanted to show more evidence of my hard work.

Blisters, ice and numb feet! OH MY!

I just finished workout 2 and I HURT!!!  I did get my knee pain to go away so that helped but now I have blisters and in the middle of my run, my right foot went numb.  Well, at least it didn't hurt right?  And now I know to loosen my laces when running!  I did learn a way for me to make running easier: focal pts.  And imagining my NEW body in a dress I just bought.  I think my butt will look amazing.  No I'm not VAIN!  How could you think such a thing!!

So after the run, I did the lunges.  OUCH!!!!!  Nuff said.  Then I did the pushups and 10 min of core.  After the run and lunges, easy peasy.  Seriously I think I'll torture myself more often just so stuff like 10 min abs and pushups seem easy.

AND I know the pic is blurry!  I told Adam to come downstairs and take my pic in about 15 min.  He did, but didn't tell me so I was focusing on my NEW BODY and didn't know he had taken the pic until after.  If you had my imagination you wouldn't notice a pic being taken either!

I am SO proud of myself too!!  I DID THE 1/4 MILE SPRINT!  And I timed it cause if I'm doing it I want to know how long it took me!  2:35 at a pace of 6 mph!  I know right!  I'm in awe too.  And I don't even hate Lauren today!  It's an act of GOD!

MY favorite!!  PTS!!!

Workout 2- 5 pts
Sprint- 1 pt
Pic- 1 pt
Post- 1 pt
4.2 pace- 1 pt
Walking times- 1 pt

Total- 10 PTS!

And now you know my secret!  I will do anything for pts!

Sore? My top 10 list on ways to help.

Make sure you are:

1- Warming up sufficiently before you start your workout.
2- Cooling down sufficiently after your done.
3- Stretching before, after(while you are still warm), and through out the day(the more sore you are, the more frequently you need to take small breaks and stretch). Stretch out really well before bed to help you sleep better. Don't bounce in your stretches. Think slow, and hold.
4- Staying well hydrated with good ol' H2O.
5- Keep moving throughout the day. Not intensely or anything, just keep moving. Cleaning, playing with the kids, walking slowly around the block, all of this will help. When we stop for a long time, we get more stiff. Keep the blood flow pumping through those muscles to help them move that lactic acid out.
6- Putting Ice on a sore joint, or muscle might help. Keep it at 5-10 min ice on and 20 min off, and then repeat if necessary.
7- Elevate your feet. When it is time to sit, put your feet up to help with circulation.
8- Take a warm bath and soak. Maybe use some Epsom salts (like 2 cups). Add essential oils to make it ultra spa like. Eucalyptus, or Lavender are my favs.
9- Rub it out. Gently and slowly. Take a bit of lotion, and just gently rub your muscle, feet, joint whatever. If you find tender spots, don't avoid them just be even softer and help you body release those knots.
10- Take Advil, it helps with the inflammation. Keeps you moving. And just makes it more bearable.

And remember, being sore isn't all bad! You are helping your muscles rebuild and get stronger. It can be a painful process, but one that helps burn more fat/calories, helps you get stronger, and improve over all health. Plus it means you kicked butt on your workout. :)

Good luck healing!

-L.

Clarification Please

I think I need to clarify some of the point specifics on the Fitness Challenge.

Every workout has a certain amount of points for finishing completely. The timed portion of the runs must remain the same, no extra pace is required, and you CAN add additional time to the walking portions if needed. All of this is included in the points PER workout.

Bonus points. You can earn these on every one of the workouts.
*Posting afterwards=1pt Every time.
*Posting a Pic taken during or after your workout= 1pt every time.
*NOT adding additional walking time=1 pt (this would NOT apply to the 3 miler as there is no walking specifics).
*Running on a track or outside=1 pt EVERY WORKOUT (including the 3 miler).
OR

*Running at a 4.2 pace on a treadmill= 1 pt EVERY WORKOUT (including the 3 miler- Cause if your going to run it at that pace after the workouts you've already done... YOU BET I WILL GIVE YOU A POINT!)
*Doing a 400 meter or 2x200 meter sprints after each workout= 1 point every time.

And the ways to get bonus points for the week are:

*Finishing all three workouts by Saturday. I didn't specify a time and I can see how this is misleading. Did I mean Friday night you had to be done or just anytime on Saturday? Well originally I meant Friday night. But because it could have been confusing, i will compromise. Get it done by noon on Saturday. Text me and/or post by 12:30. =1 bonus point for the week.

*Extra workouts= 1 bonus point each. When I wrote that I intended it to be a bonus for those of you who do more than 3 hellish workouts this week. I meant actual workouts. Then I remembered after that you guys get points for nerf wars, and intense cleaning, yada yada yada. You counted them as "workouts" or whatever. So I wavered, give points for those or just for actual workouts. Back and forth in my mind. But my conclusion is to keep it with my original intent. You get 1 bonus point PER extra workout (actual exercise) this week. Unless you do 2 hard exercise sessions a day, as in 2 separate 20+ min workouts, this would mean probably about 1 point per day of the week of the challenge. Since a week has 7 days, and I gave you 3 workouts, that would mean most likely 4 possible bonus points for the week.

And I would like to say that the challenge officially ends Sunday evening. Again giving you the whole 7 days.

So to get "max" points for the challenge it looks like this:
*12 pts. completed all 3 workouts.
*3 pts. after workout posts
*3 pts after workout pics
*2 pts NOT adding extra walking
*3 pts running on the track/outside
OR
*3 pts running at 4.2 pace or higher on the treadmill.
*3 pts doing the sprints.
*1 pt Early finish time.
*4 pts Extra Workouts. (if you do have more than 4 extra workouts, lets talk, make sure they count and then this would go up).

Challenge Max= 31 points.

But since that doesn't give you a rest day, and you need your day of rest ;). I am keeping the challenge max at 30 pts.

The first person to hit the challenge max of 30 pts text me. And you will win the babysitting. Maybe its Saturday, maybe its Sunday, maybe someone else will beat you by an hour. eeek! If I was you I would text me as you finish your workout. The race is on.

AND

The person with the MOST points, however many that is (-20 or 30+), gets a healthy lunch on me. :)

Hope its all clear. This is how I originally intended the challenge to be. I will be more specific next time. Sorry.

Lauren

Why do we do this?? Or why don't we do this?

Well today I did workout #2 YEAH!!! It was sooooooooo hard! I always thought that the hardest part of running for me, besides mental is the breathing and catching my wind and whatnot...but today....my body was SCREAMING at me halfway through! The only way I was able to get through it all was because Lauren was there pushing me a long!! But the hardest is over now!

This evening after drinking TONS of water and ibprofen I can actually move around and not feel like I am going to fall over. (This morning it hurt to just get into the van!) I did my lunges (I will admit there were some tears) and abs and then push ups...
Nathan was really excited when I told him he could take pictures....Kimball of course had to get into it, so he jumped on me while I was doing crunches!! OUCH!
He did jump on my back while I did the plank, but this pic he was trying to do it in front of me....I don't think he gets it.
You can't see it very well from this picture but I am on my knees, but they are shoved WAY back! So a very hard knee push. (I did try it on the wall...it was hard, but harder on the floor and I thought that Laura would like it better if I did it on the floor)
Thankfully with the lunges Kimball couldn't jump on me. I think I would have fallen over!!

I have a question....with everyone working out....do you get REALLY cold afterwards????? Today I put on sweats...and this HUGE sweater (It is one of the few items of clothing that makes me feel small because I swim in it). This afternoon I was wearing gloves!! And my house is set at 72 degrees. Anyway just wondering.....

So my points:
Workout #2 - 5pts
Posting: 1pt
Sprints: Are you kidding me???? Has anyone done these?
No extra time: 1 pt (This was my goal today, not to add any more walking time)
Running on indoor track : 1 pt (Holy cow this was sooo much harder....although I had a cheering section! They were "larger" men. I think they were happy that a "large" woman was running with the skinnies! Lauren knows them, they are nice)
Posting pic: 1pt
Total: 9pts (Holy crap is that right???)

Tomorrow I plan on doing my workout 3, since Saturday is Brandon's Baptism and I will have a million things to do as well as entertain family....which you all know that you are MORE than welcomed to come right???

A different kind of hangover...

Well hello there sexy!

Because I could barely walk this morning, I decided to do workout 3.  I was HARD in the beginning.  But around the 1.5 mile mark, it got easier!  YAY for that!  I didn't make the 4.2 mph goal but I feel good about doing the WHOLE TIME on 3.7 mph.
And this was with 3 Catalyst so that tells you how sore I was.  I do feel much better after ice and ADVIL.

So pts
Workout 3- 4pts
Pic- 1 pt
Post- 1 pt

Total- 6 pts!!

Wish me luck with tomorrow!!!

Phase 1 Re-Run!

Doesn't the word RUN make you want to vomit now?...
Phase 1 Complete! Stats....

Weight: 184.0 179.2 4.8lb loss
Chest: 39" 37.75" -1.25"
Bust: 43" 41" -2"

Butt: 43.5" 43" -.5"
Thighs: 26.25" 25" -1.25"
Arms: 13.75" 12.5" -1.25"

Not too shabby, eh? I find it terribly interesting that the only place I didn't lose any inches was my hips... kinda annoying actually...

Anywho!

Does anyone want to see some before and after pics?? Too bad, I'm showing you anyway!

I'm a giant ball of emotions, which, if you know me, is extremely uncomfortable! I'm happy that I've started to work towards losing all this baby weight. I feel like I made decent progress, if you look at the stats. I also have had a great time setting up this whole contest, orchestrating the challenges of death and just generally being awesome all the time...

Yet...

I find myself disappointed. Why? Well, I don't think I did the one thing that Phase 1 was designed to accomplish... I didn't truly commit! Sure, sure, I followed my nutrition plan (most of the time) and actually attempted to work-out, which I haven't done since... well, its been a while, ok?! But my heart hasn't truly been in it! I needed to focus my efforts, push thru the blahs... I needed... needed....

Lauren's work-outs of Death!!!!

Oh, you heard me! Lauren is the perfect breed of evil... my thighs quiver in fear at just a whisper of her name! She has a magical blend of torture, taunting and ... more torture.... But it works! I always work out harder and get the best results when she starts getting involved. So, for Phase 2, Lauren will be my task master... heaven help us all...

Running...

Ummm... Ow?

Work-out complete! I ran and ran... now I'm icing my ankles/knees. Good news? It wasn't too bad. I was able to run all the intervals and recovered between really well. I did my last interval at 4.5mph!

PTs:
Work-out= 4
Run at 4.2+ = 1
Walking = 1
Post = 1
Total= 7

Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of my control, no pic tonight. :(

Confessions of a sweaty stinky mommy

I LOVE CRUNCHES!! Oh wait!  They suck! But, they make my stomach smaller so I guess I'll live.

I was SERIOUSLY surprised by how I was able to run! As you know I don't like it so I don't do it.  Well now I know I can if I ever feel so inclined!

Lauren- I know I told you a few times how much I despised you today, but I'm really glad you gave us this workout challenge!  I feel better already! Except for the sore muscles.  Just a fore warning, I may not feel this way later.  Just putting it out there!

OK so pts!

Workout 1- 4 pts
Running at a 4.2 (BOOYAH!)- 1pt
Posting after workout- 1 pt
Maintaining the walking times- 1 pt
Pic of workout- 1 pt

Total- 8 pts

Can I get a Whoop Whoop???

I was holding the camera with one hand, and so its kinda funky...but don't ya love the double chin??

That's right I finish Workout #1!!!!!! ALL OF IT! The runnnnnning.....the push-ups.......and the abs!!! I rock.....I know.

Thanks to Lauren for letting me run on her treadmill and pushing me through the running part I made it! I guess I should hate her for making us do all this hard work...but I am really liking it, because if she wouldn't have pushed us like this....I would never have thought that I was even capable of doing it! :D But since she likes it so much.... I hate you Lauren! :D

So here are the stats:
Finishing Workout #1: 4pts
Posting after my workout: 1pt
Adding a picture: 1pt
Total: 6pts YEAH!!!
(Lauren let me know if I messed up on the points...I got a better idea after working with you)

Now deep down I want you all to fail (just because I want the points) but more towards the surface I want you guys to succeed too, because well I guess I like you. So here are some things I learned while doing it....

1. The pace is set on the treadmill, but if you can't keep that pace you can lower your pace (I got down to 3.2 at the end) and keep jogging, it still counts. This was AWESOME!
2. Check to make sure the treadmill is NOT on an incline :D
3. Lady Gaga gets you through the workout
4. Stretching is an awesome thing as well as some advil :D

Good luck my dark ones!! But lets just say I rock for being the first to finish the workout!! :D

RUNNING is the buzz word of the moment

Yep, I not only am bullying, oops I mean "strongly encouraging", you guys to run- I have been doing it myself! I have been running a lot lately and it is making me oh so happy. :) I ran 6.5 miles on Tuesday, the farthest I have run so far. It was a good feeling. I also have decided that the runs have gotten to that, somewhat less than scary place. So that means I need to up the intensity again.
So after one small anxiety attack, I have commited-2 sprint workouts a week. I am freaking scared. But that usually means that its a good thing, so bring on the speed workouts. I already did one on Monday, and lets just say- I wanted to vomit. AND my legs haven't been that sore in YEARS. Thats right I said years. Not even after 400 tippie toe lunges. It was tear worthy. And I LOVED it. Bring on Saturday! Patrick is going to run with me. It pisses me off when he beats me because he never trains for anything cardio. Plus I just hate losing to him. But that is all part of the plan to make me push to the limit, because he is faster than I am. Either way I am ready. Bring the Pain.

Before

Before

K.....so stacking up the pictures I can see a little difference, not much but it's there..
What I learned is....If I want to get the points I need to do the work. You would think that having lost over 15 inches and 12lbs in 1 month (all time record for me by the way) I would be in first place...but nope.

Truth....after reading the points I was VERY VERY close to letting everyone know that I was out. Cause frankly I don't want to do anything embarrising! That scares me. But I realized that is what I have done my WHOLE life and that it is about time to break the pattern. It's no one's fault (well I did re do the points and our points differ a LOT Crystal ) but my own, and it's because I didn't do it as well as I should have, and that's not Annie's or Crystal's fault. Only mine.

For this next phase I am looking forward to doing the physical challenges and whatever little challenge we have. I need to be challenged every day and I find that the physical challenges keep me motivated....bring on the 3 miles!!!

Current

Okay.....

Okay so this past week was terrible!!! So emotional (no anti depressants and starting period).....
This is for week 24th to the 30th.

Exercise: What we are suppose to do this?? -no points

As for the chocolate challenge: FAILED!!! Too much going on I couldn't handle it. I NEED chocolate. I can handle little amounts but when you take it all away...nope

Now I am told that if we post pictures EACH week. we get the points...so lets bring on LOLA!!!!
I was laughing because I just looked down and there was about a MILE of clevage!! I knew that hubby's check out the site from time to time and I didn't want them to become jealous! (Okay well that is what I tell myself)
Can you tell the difference??? NOT ME but oh well. We still have 2 more months right?

I'm going to need more music for this...

I am crazy. It's official.
I've agreed to run in a relay race that goes from Huntington Beach to  San Diego.
Yes. It's the Ragnar Relay. 180miles over 24hours. Nonstop running.

Like I said, Crazy.

I am going to start running this week (yes, you read that correctly, I said START) and want any music suggestions you can provide. PLEASE! I go insane running over 20min without a new song to listen to. I almost never repeat playlists in the same week. Sad but true. So if you have any songs you can recommend, please comment with them!

Also, pray that I don't die. Thanks.

Mari

Sweetening the deal

Not all fitness challenges will be this awesome- so you guys should seriously NOT let this one pass you by.... Cause I am sweetening the deal a bit.

*The person with the MOST points on the workout challenge, gets to go out to lunch, some place yummy AND healthy, on my dime. I am going to either buy you a gift card, or take you to lunch with me! Your choice! If you all hit the same amount of points EXACTLY, as in maybe you all MAX OUT!! I will either take you all out, or think of a tie breaker.....hmmmm (like maybe you posted more than one pic- so I decide you deserve it more... hint hint;)

*AND if you hit the MAXIMUM amount of workout points for the entire challenge. ALL 30! I will babysit your kids for free for one night. BUT the babysitting is only available for the first person that hits the max. Valentines Day is just around the corner!! :) So the Race is on! And YES I realize that will mean who ever texts or posts first about their last bonus workout being done..... its half the fun.

So bring on the sprints!! And bring on the points! And lets all get closer to our weight loss goals! OR more importantly.... lets just beat the other girls! LOL!

Workin' it

Who wants a workout challenge? (me! me! I do! I do!) Worth MAJOR points? (me! me!! oh wait, I don't actually get points..... but you do!) Like put you back on top Crystal Light? (C'mon, you know thats an awesome opportunity!!) Tempting? (Cause who REALLY wants to do that embarrassing stunt? and for that matter WHO wants to pay for their own movie? Not me!) Well now that you see what a golden opportunity this is, I hope I have your full attention. I know that this will not be easy for most of you. But its worth big points so lets get going! Here's what this weeks SURPRISE (ya its only a surprise because its a week early! LOL)workout challenge is: RUNNING!! (or FAST bouncy walking!)

Workout 1

Run for 8 min
walk for 3 min
Run for 10 min
walk for 3 min
Run for 6 min
walk for 3 min
Run for 7 min
walk for 3 min
Run for 5 min
walk for 2 min

10 min of core work (think ABS people), 3 sets of 10 push ups. Try to do "real" push ups every set- even if its only 1 per set the key is to push yourself.
**(you may add a few extra min of walking in the walk portions to recover if needed. But don't cut the run portion short)

WORKOUT 1 IS WORTH 4 POINTS

Workout 2

Run 10 min
walk 3 min
Run 10 min
walk 2 min
Run 5 min
walk 2 min
Run 8 min
walk 2 min
Run 8 min
walk 3 min

10 min core work, 3 sets of 10 push ups, 3 sets of 20 EACH LEG walking lunges, yep thats a total of 60 per leg- Crazy I know. Think tight booty! (Dark Crystal I expect one of these sets to be "tippie toe lunges".... you know what I am sayin!! SQEEEEEEEZE that butt! The rest of you- I will save that lesson for another challenge.... hehehehe;)
**(you may add a few extra min of walking in the walk portions to recover if needed. But don't cut the run portion short)

WORKOUT 2 IS WORTH 5 POINTS

Workout 3

Run 3 miles. Time doesn't matter, this is a distance only workout. Walk as much as you need, but please consider this a RUN not a walk with a few running spurts. The whole point is to build endurance!

WORKOUT 3 IS WORTH 4 POINTS

Now for the bonus points!! You can get bonus points every workout! Each one of these options is worth 1 bonus point each.

*Running outside, or on an indoor track! Its harder.
***Running at a pace of 4.2 miles per hour (or higher) on the treadmill. (there is NO pace requirement to bonus if you run on a track or outside. Its harder so you don't need the extra challenge) This would guarantee you are pushing yourself.
*Posting after each workout. Let us know how it went! if you hate me! Calories burned! Or Whatever- lets keep it competitive by bragging that we've finished yet another part of the challenge.
*If you do a 400 meter (1/4 of a mile) SPRINT, OR 2 200 meter(1/8th of a mile, twice) SPRINT at the end of each workout. Sprint means ALL OUT people.... as in run for your life!
** If you don't add extra walking to the walking portions of the workout. This ofcourse does not apply to walking to cool down at the end. :)

Ok thats not it on ways to get points.

*1 bonus point if you include a pic of yourself doing the workout, or RIGHT AFTER the workout in your blog post. Lets show off our red sweaty faces! LOL!
*1 bonus point if you finish this challenge before Saturday.
*1 bonus point FOR EACH ADDITIONAL workout you do this week. IF you complete the challenge, and also workout the other 3-4 days of the week, you get bonus points for all the extra work! That means, since I am posting this Tuesday- If you did a workout Mon, you could already have a bonus point!

HOLY POINTS BATMAN!!!!

So that means you get 12 points for the workouts, with up to 4 bonus points PER workout. Thats a possibility of 24 freaking points! Plus 1 more for finishing before Saturday, and up to 4 more for additional workouts, And 1 more for the picture. I think 30 points is enough to swing this race either way. I also know that you guys are busy and beat sometimes. For this challenge I offer spark, catalyst, and all sorts of other goodies if you specifically request them before EACH workout. I am not loading you up forever- I am trying to help you plan and get the energy specific to finishing the challenge. I am also available if anyone wants me to run with them. Let me know!

Also I am offering my treadmill, if you want to come run here- so that you have someone to bitch to the whole time ;). And I am letting you know that the PG rec center is only $0.50 cents to run on their indoor track.

OK! With all that said, let me remind you to make sure you STRETCH before and after. Its a big deal when running. Let me also draw attention to the fact that I made NO INCLINE specifications on this challenge for treadmill running. I want you to run. To make it easier on your body while you adjust to this new form of exercise keep it at the incline that is easiest for you. Also please stay hydrated.

text or call me with any questions!

and good luck!!

Annie's Top 5

Things I learned in phase one-

1.  I NEED chocolate to survive and function correctly

2.  Lunges make my butt smaller

3.  Do NOT piss Twin off

4.  Praying is not a reliable method of weight loss

5.  Laughing is NOT the same as stomach crunches

Lesson's learned (hopefully) and moving on to phase 2!

Let the games continue!!!!!

Last is best of all the game!

Doesn't this make you think "Sexy"?!
So I'm thinking the weekly challenge thing is pretty fun, yeah? I think we need to keep these up... also, challenges from the peanut gallery are welcome, but please be gentle! We break easily...
This weeks challenge comes after accusations that last weeks challenge of No Chocolate was not challenging enough for me...
This weeks challenge: No soda!! This means no diet coke, diet DP, diet any-thing-carbonated...
Anyone who really knows me knows that this is my achilles heel, so no more accusing me of being soft on myself! Same rules apply; monday thru sunday, winner gets 5 points, if there are multiple winners then we all get 2 points each.
Also, Lauren will be supplying next weeks challenge and I have it on good authority it will be a fitness challenge... better start training now!!

I survived!!!

I did it!! I went 7 DAYS without chocolate!!!  Whew! So glad that's over.  And thank you for the chocolate chip cookies Lauren!  Hopefully this week I will work out harder but I feel good that I made it through last week alive.  Twin, you're on my list.  Well. at least you were before I got my cookies from Lauren.  You should thank her DOUBLE.

How did this happen?

I am the first to post their stats for this week??? How did this happen??? (This is for the week 17th -23rd)

I am having a hard time thinking of last week, and am only having this week in mind....so let me pick my brain....

Weight: 271.2 (loss of 2lbs)
Exercise: 3 days
Food: 90% (Just one day I didnt do so hot)
Compliments: 1, but I am told that it doesn't count because it wasn't from Travis, it was his MOM!
Measurements:
Waist: 50" (down 3")
Hips: 54" (down 2.5")
Thigh: 31" (down 1")
Arms: 16.5" (down .5")
Butt: 54" (down 2")
Upper belly: 45.5" (down .5")

These measurements shock me mostly because I haven't noticed a HUGE difference or any difference in my cloths yet.

I did pretty good for this week overall.....too bad I am doing HORRIBLE this week. So hopefully any points that I gain this particular week will help me out this week.

Next week I will make sure I post a picture... not a Lola but probably the Modest one...I think I scared a few people

Checking in

So, Colby will only eat bacon these days, everything else makes him gag or he goes on a hunger strike. Is it possible to develop a texture issue at five or is this something you are born with? At any rate my weigh in was not so great this week. sigh. stupid yummy bacon! Is it possible to survive on bacon, cheese, and chocolate? I say yes but it would give one the trots something fierce, not that I would know. We'll leave that to the master cleanse experts.

The Eleventh Hour...

Yeah, so I suck at posting this week, what else is new...

Okay, so let's get the stats out of the way:

Weight: 183.2 lbs.
that's right... 3 lb gain!! No points there...

Measurements:
Waist: 35.5"... ok, .25 down
Hips: 42"... same
Bust: 41"... same
Arms: 12.5"... down .5
Thighs: 26"... same

Yada yada yada... I ate toooooo much and was really lazy last week...

Now! For the good stuff...

POINTS BREAKDOWN!!!!!
As of 1/23...

Annie: 50 points
Crystal Light: 45 points
Dark Crystal: 54 points

So, as you can see, we are all pretty close...

Just a reminder:
Post weekly! Including measurements, current weight, any losses and phots will INCREASE your points total for the week! Also, don't forget any activity that you do with a higher intensity can count as exercise! That means house-cleaning, playing with the kids, or yada yada yada with your hubby... wink wink Twin... it alllllll counts!!

Here is a BONUS points challenge!

Starting tomorrow (1/24) whom ever can go the longest without some form of chocolate wins 5 points! At the end of the week (1/30), if everyone has made it (or at least 2 of us) we all get 2 points...

WHO WILL WIN????

Dear 8 1/2 lb little baby Jesus.....

Why am I praying you ask? I stepped on the scale yesterday and GAINED 2 1/2 LBS!!!! I'm not ok with this so the only option I see, is to pray that it was a mistake. What ?! It could be true! I'm probably building some MASSIVE muscles. That's definitely it. Soon I'll be bulging with rippling quads. Just wait.

So, numbers....
Weight: 140 LBS (%#^*#+%^%+#^^*%#^) I make up my own naughty words. It's a talent.
Diet: 100% (oh yeah!)
Exercise: 100% (doing the Leslie Hall dance counts, right? Stomp once for Britney and twice for Beyonce)
Husband compliments: 1 (his jaw dropped to the floor Sunday I looked so SMOKIN)
Awesomeness: 100% (what!? We don't count that!? We should.)

Why yes pigs do fly, and apparently so does bacon...

Or maybe it was just me propelling myself four feet across the kitchen to grab the last piece of bacon... while my hands were full of bacon. SIGH

Yes my friends, it's time to get myself back on the weight loss bandwagon! I've fallen off, rolled down the hill and met a little friend named four-pound-gain who isn't particularly nice to me and I'm ready to climb back in and kick some butt!

Anyway, I am joining in on ya'lls blog for motivation and hopefully I will hit my first goal weight, woot. Since I'm not officially part of the actual competition I don't feel compelled to post actual real life pictures as of yet but maybe I will... we will see. In the meantime here is a juicy little nugget I have to share, its super funny and is exactly what I would look like in gold spandex... (Yes Annie, it's Leslie Hall haha!)

I don't have stats yet but I'll get them :)

I don't know how it happened... But I digress

So I started out AMAZING last week... but then, work happened... All I can say is UGH!! The stress, coupled with the amazing lack of DDP, and I was a wreck! So it was with a heavy heart that I stepped on the scale monday morning...

WHAT THE FREAKIN' FREAK???!!!!!
Ummm... surely that must be wrong, right? So I took my measurements...
Ummm... there can only be one explanation...
The BIG Man upstairs must love me more than... anyone!
Week 1 Stats:
Weight: 180.8 lbs 4 lb loss
Chest: 38.25" -.75"
Bust: 41" -2"
Waist: 35.75" -1.25"
Belly: 41.25" -1.25"
Hips: 42"
Butt: 43" -.5"
Ihighs: 26" -.25"
Arms: 13" -.75"
Exercise: 40% (only completed 2 of the 5 days)
Nutrition: 100% (stayed within PTS limit for week)
Compliments: HA! Do pigs fly yet?? Yeah, I didn't think so...
The 10-minute solution dvds are spectacular! Totally worth the money; I've been able to successfully talk myself into working out both days this week. Also, don't let that "10 minute" thing fool you. This stuff is HARD! You know how I was saying you can do "anything" for 10 minutes?? Yeah, I hadn't opened the kickboxing dvd yet... ow. Still haven't started bouncy walking. Not really that surprising, is it?
On a side note, why is it so freakin' cold??! I don't workout outside; I hadn't planned on it either. But my house is so cold that when I get up at the un-holy hour of 5 am... shudder ... I can barely get myself out of the bed, much less out of the sweatshirt and yoga pants I've been bundled in for the last 5 hours. Yeah, you heard me 5 hours... I'm tired, just sayin'. I'm not even sure why I'm talking about this, except that my toes are cold!
I am calculating the points from week 1, but I have a question... how often do you want point updates? Weekly? Monthly? At the end of each Phase?? Let me know!
Ciao!
ps... I'm saddened to see no Lola's have shown up for Week 1 check in. My excuse is that I'm too lazy to ask Chris to take my picture... what's yours?

Checking in for week 1

Okay, I did okay this first week. Got a bit ahead of myself and checked my weight two days in...BAD IDEA!! I think I took it a little too easy for the next couple of days. So here is my results:

Weight loss: 5.8lbs
Workout: 4 days (heavy cleaning)
Eating: I did great Monday-Friday but went over on Saturday and did okay on Sunday
No compliments :(

I am feeling better, I think I am looking better but just not there yet. I already feel halfway through this week that I am not doing good, and losing motivation :( I am having NO DESIRE to exercise! I know that will make a HUGE difference but I can't get my butt to do it. Right now my only choice is to run stairs in my house or do a workout video and frankly that doesn't sound very fun....

So Annie maybe some days after I drop off boys we can do a circuit training at your house or something. Also Crystal how is the 10 Minute Solution videos???

Any help I can get I will take it!!! (You herbal medication people!! CHEATERS!!!) LOL

week 1- Lauren reporting back

Hey I got some great news, and some not so great news.....
First off- The good news: I worked out, and didn't die/ flare/ cry in pain for hours! THIS is success people! The bad news: I had a crappy flare starting from Wed night through the weekend. So I only got 6 miles in last week and I wanted 10. But I worked out Mon-(running and weights), Tues-(just running), Wed- (swimming, my feet were ouchy). Thurs, Friday, and Sat.... I did nothing. I think I slept over 50% of the day, everyday. I also have noticed that when I am a lot of pain I either don't eat at all- or eat junk. I have no will power. Not the best habit- especially since it happens A LOT!! Ugh! It grosses me out to think about it. So yeah, I am going to try and work on that one... I hope this week is better!
Lauren

"Hot Pants" checking in

I'm not gonna lie, this first week was ROUGH. I had no idea the importance of chocolate in my life. I do now. This revelation came after a minor freakout. Well I describe it as minor but my husband might refer to it as "truly frightening". What was it over? Chocolate frozen yogurt. I also may have considered the merits of divorce during this minor freakout. What!? Chocolate frozen yogurt is important! After I came to my senses the next day, and got my beloved frozen yogurt, exercising and dieting became easier. What have I learned? Don't deny myself a weekly frozen yogurt. My marriage can't survive it.

On to my numbers:
Exercise: 3 days
Diet plan: 90% (thank you golden spoon)
Husband comments: 1 (why yes my stomach IS tighter!)

Bring on week TWO!

Insignificant Contributions: Part 1

Although I have the largest bicep muscles of the group, I fear that I may not have much to contribute to the current wave of posts. The combination of wit, sarcasm, LOLA photos, and Crystal's continued use of the phrase "I digress"...have been the FUNNIEST THINGS I'VE SEEN ON JELLY IN AGES! AMAZING!!! You girls are inspiring! I am loving your enthusiasm and overall this bet seems like a rockin' idea.

2011 brings new challenges for me regarding my personal fitness and health. Recovering from foot surgery for the past year has changed everything (eating habits, exercise, and overall motivation). Now that I am approaching my 1 year anniversary of the much regretted surgery I am OVER IT. Now I am ready to re-commit and work through the pain, I'm over my feet being my excuse.

A very talented personal trainer, who studied nutrition and is certified in all of the important stuff...basically she knows whats up, has a blog. The blog is packed with useful information, work out tips, recipes and more. http://peace-love-fitness.blogspot.com/  Maybe you will find some of the information useful too! Her name is Ashley, she teamed up with another trainer (Rachel) and they both contribute to the blog. If you have Q's etc they will send you answers etc. Ashley is an awesome trainer out here in CA & a best friend of mine.

Okay, enough of the boring stuff! My goals are not as exciting as yours, but will be pretty hard for me. My habits are awful!! I am going to be setting goals for myself each month, rather than a large yearly goal.

 JANUARY 2011
1- Week 9th-15th Work out 4x, No Carbs after 4pm
2. Week 16th-22nd Work out 4x, No Sweets/Dessert etc. ALL WEEK
3. Week 23rd- 29th, Work out 5x, Cook healthy dinner min 3 nights this week

And Finally, by FEB 10th be able to get my left foot into a high heel! Currently it's looking a bit like this! I want to be Cinderella not sister-ugly-face!!
My big toe won't bend and I can't support my weight because of it.
My right foot? Totally healed.
I have no idea why my left is SO behind. But I'M OVER IT!
So, why Feb 10th?
Because Feb 13th I fly to NYC for Fashion Week.
Need I say more?

Wish me luck next week, the no carbs after 4pm is gonna be HARD!!

confessions....

This file is from the Open Clip Art Library

I did sooooooo good last week, and sooooo good yesterday with my food. Then today, BAM! I caved. Lily asked for fries, and well... we both had some. Now I am in the pit of shame. :(

Maybe you all can learn from my failure.... Stay away from the fries! It causes nothing but painful guilt.

Lauren

PS- I already have 6 of my 10-15 miles done for this week! wahoo! AND I lifted on Monday. :) Too bad I undid it all and more with my moment of weakness.....
boooo for me!

I'M HERE!!! DON'T KICK ME OUT YET!

The startling truth first:

Weight: 141 lbs (Before or after my "carb loading" session this weekend?  And by "carb loading" I mean cookies and cheetos.)
Chest: 34"
Bust: 35 1/2" (Hence the reason I have ONE sports bra.)
Waist: 31 3/4"
Belly: 36 1/2"
Hips: 39 3/4"
Butt: 45 1/2" (HERE IS WHERE I SHINE PEOPLE!)
Thighs: 24 1/4"
Arms: 12"
Ego: Unmeasurable

WARNING! THE PICTURES BELOW MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN! PLEASE REMOVE THEM BEFORE CONTINUING TO VIEW.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS INCLUDE:  NAUSEA, DRY MOUTH, NIGHT TERRORS, BOWEL CONTROL PROBLEMS, RED ITCHY EYES, ETC.

                                                                  I will pray for you.

I will be using Sparks People as my diet plan with 1500-1800 calories per day.  My goals regarding exercise will be for 4-5 days a week.  AND I'm not committing to any exact exercise, only that Fabio will be involved.

Well that's all folks!  Wish us luck!!

Why do birds suddenly appear...

Here we are... the start of a new era! The Bet... is on like Donkey Kong!! Here are my starting stats:

Weight 184.0 Or as I like to call it "Just Right"... sort of
Chest 39"
Bust 43" Busty LaRue!!
"Waist" 37" It counts as my waist even though its directly under my chest, right?
Belly 42.25"
Hips 42"
Butt 43.5" Notice how my butt is the same size as my bust... lame.
Thighs 26.25"
Arms 13.75"

There you have it folks! My life in numbers...

My "diet" plan is to follow Weight Watchers. I have 36 daily points and 49 weekly points. I kind of hate the word diet, so I'm actually going to be referring to the food plans as "nutrition" plans from now on....

My exercise goals for Phase 1 are to do at least one ten minute segment from my Solutions DVDs 5 out of 7 days, but ideally three segments daily. In addition, I am also going to start a running... haha, lets call it like it really is... I am going to start a bouncy walk training program for the Half-Marathon I am NOT committing to...
Still Not Committing!!
By the end of January my long "runs" will reach 5 miles. Do you want me to post my training schedule??
I already posted a pic, but since it wasn't during competition, here it is again:

I keep thinking it will get better...

Ciao!

Ps... Yeah, I know that the title of my post makes no sense, but when you have a Carpenters song in your head, you just have to go with it, ya know?

Now on to the embarresing pictures!! Bring on LOLA!!!

Don't barf just yet!! Hopefully in a month I will be smaller!! Now I will get dressed!!

Oh and these are the shortest shorts I have!

Ok, Here I go.... again

I know that I am not part of Crystals "bet" but I have New Year's resolutions of my own. And I have to admit- Crystal's posts have made me want to join the Jelly once more. I have a big trip coming up in March.... NEW ZEALAND!! Can you freaking believe it? And the part I am most excited about- Lord of the Rings was filmed there(yes, yes, I know I am a big dork...)!!! But I got to get my handicapped butt into shape. So I am making a plan!

I need cardio!! And I can only swim so much! It makes me crazy!! So... My goal is to run at least 3 days a week, more if I can (body permitting). I want to log somewhere between 10-15 miles a week for the month of January. Upping that to 15-20 miles a week in February... This may be a lofty goal- but I am gonna try!!

Also I need to figure out something to build my muscle back up. I still don't think that my wrists are strong enough to actually handle lifting weights. So for upper body I think I will try yoga(or maybe not- this scares me!), or bands. Suggestions and workout ideas welcome!!!! (Just remember I cant even support my body in plank pose on my dang wrists... so I need to be able to work with that... annoying). My legs are going to get weights, and get lunged to death. Thats right peeps, I am finally strong enough in my ankles and knees to do lunges again.... watch out! I am hoping 2 days a week of muscle building will get me headed in the right direction.

Also a side note.... any spine friendly ab routines are always welcome.

Working out can be such a pain, I freaking hate RA sometimes... but I gotta get a bit of the old Lauren back- and this is one thing thats going to help me do it.

Anyway I am not going to post my numbers, just lbs lost as I work on my goals. And Mari? I miss your workout posts so you need to jump back on the jelly bandwagon too.... ok? ok!

Lauren

ps- if anyone out there wants to join our jelly blog to keep themselves motivated, or just simply to have some fun- I am officially inviting you. Jeni? Britney? Katie? Anyone????? :)

Details.... Details....

So, here we are, on the eve of the big contest, when I realize... NO ONE KNOWS THE RULES EXCEPT ME!!! I'm not gonna say that subconciously I was trying to tip the scales in my favor... wow, the puns just flow sometimes don't they? Anyway, I will give the reader's digest version of the rules for you all:

THE BET...
This competition will consist of three phases, plus one grand total event. I've broken down all of our "milestones" into a points system, as follows:

Phase 1:
January 3 - January 30
Blog posts... once a week minimum 5Pts each
Measurements... posted/witnessed 5Pts each
Picture added with Blog Post * 5 - 15Pts each

Phase 2:
January 31 - February 27
Same as Phase 1 plus...
"Pick your own punishment" 5Pts
Picture added with Blog Post* 2 - 10Pts

Phase 3:
February 28 - March 27
Same as Phase 1
Picture added with Blog Post 1 - 5Pts

Now, you may be wondering why the pictures earn such a range of Pts... well, we all recognize that posting pictures of ourselves for all to see should not be a requirement taken lightly. So, I've devised (with the help of the ladies) a three tiered point system... basically the more you expose the more points you earn!! Please don't panic, they talked me out of the pasties and g-string! Each picture that is posted is up for a vote, and points are awarded accordingly. To make it easier to vote, I have given each level a name...

"Modest Murtle" - this level is the least exposed. This requires a form fitting t-shirt (a Shade shirt is our favorite) and a pair of form-fitting yoga pants. See the example:

Holy Gut Batman!

"Booty-licious" - the name of our middle of the road teir. This level will require more visible skin than Myrtle, but it is still fairly conservative. For example, a sleeveless top and a pair of longer length form-fitting shorts. The key is it still needs to be form-fitting enough to show your shape. See the Example...

Umm... Outstanding!!

"Lola" - I'm pretty sure the name says it all! Sadly, Twin and Crystal vetoed the pasties ...tear... But, I digress. Lola requires skin people!! I'm talking full arm, leg, and torso... that's right, the full monty! Ok, maybe not the FULL monty, but you get the idea. Acceptable outfits for this picture are sports bra tops and bike shorts that show at least mid-thigh and below. Non- acceptable outfits are birthday suits... I know, I'm disappointed too! Now, see THIS example...

Chancho! I need to borrow some sweats...

Anyone else freakin' excited! Wahoo!!

There will also be cumulative points at the end; points for percentage of weight lost and inches lost, points for meeting your exercise and diet goals, and bonus points! At the end of the contest, April 2, 2011, I will total the points and we will hand out both the reward and the punishment that evening! The winner gets a dinner and movie paid for by the non-winners. The best part?? The loser must do something EXTREMELY embarrassing in public that evening while the other two enjoy the show! The girls forebade me from losing on purpose... Boo.

Any questions?? Good!

Now... the contest is about to begin a little early....

Bonus point to the first one of the ladies who comments on this post!
