One step Forward Two Steps Back

This week was good & bad for me. Bad first: I didn't work out as much I'd hoped.. And the first two work outs weren't my "best" efforts. Good news: I ran 2 times, today did I finally surpass my 2m hump. It was hard!! I ran 3.09 or something...I am averaging about 10min miles and a really red face :) I did 200 lunges (100per leg Lowen!) and i am feelin' it! I don't even use weights & my toosh hurts. I need it though, flat butts are NOT attractive! I am still terrified of abs...I am so bad at them..but THIS week I will do my best to do a minimum of 3m each time I run & do abs at least once lol--i am so horrible.

How come no body is giving updates? What the heck?

Also, I invite Jen to participate in this fun! (everyone is invited) but she is always updating her facebook about all her work outs & I think it would be fun if we had a group of us "supporting" eachother and giving tips etc. Just a thought. Lauren since you have all the info, perhaps you should invite the other Carver women to join in the fun. Even our mama!!

Monday: 1hr. Cycle
Tuesday: got my hair did instead :)
Wednesday: nada
Thursday: Ran 2.5miles & did 200 lunges
Friday:slacked
Saturday: 3m run, biceps & triceps

As Promised..

So my running was horrid, I am going to run MORE than 2miles this week..it just has to happen..
Also, Lauren, some DETAILS about your workout would be lovely...lol!

And I should probably add that Abs are my nemesis.

Running is Fun?

2009 is all about DOING rather than planning. I spend too much time, or better..I WASTE too much time saying I am going to do something, rather than just DOING it. So my new year's resolution was simply that: start DOING. Which means that effects my wonderful & oh so inconsistent work outs. I have always talked about doing a half marathon, but have never ever run more than 6 or 7miles at one point...and i haven't done that in at least 5 years. So. Lauren invited me to do one with her, and I thought gotta start DOING :) Since I have to work so much, she is flying out to CA to run with me out here in May! If you want in on our CA race, send Lowski a hollar & she'll give you the deets.
Running isn't exactly easy for me..I can get to a decent speed if I work out consistently..but I NEVER enjoy it. I love how I feel after, so I do it...but during the entire run, whether it be 1mile or 4miles...I am thinking "I want to stop. I can't breathe. I hate running". This half marathon is going to be a huge challenge for me mentally!! I am excited to start training in a month & excited to just finish it. I hope to run it in a nice easy 10min mile pace. I hope that's not being too optimistic! If it goes well I may sign up for another one & try to beat this time, but I am not running it as a RACE..I am just running it to finish it. That's it.
In addition to my running goal of a half marathon in May (and training up to may equals to about 10miles a week or so). I hope to do Yoga once a week & 2 days of lifting (Mari lifting, not Lauren lifting...I stick to the 5lb weights thank you haha).
We shall see how it all pans out, this past week was hard for me because I haven't been sleeping well which effects my efforts & desire to work out BIG TIME!! Wish me luck with the ZzzzZzzz's so I can kick my own booty!!

GOAL THIS WEEK: Mon:run, Tues:cycle, Thurs:weights/run, Sat:yoga/cycle

Also, I go to runnersworld.com & keep a log of my distances & work outs. That way in 2010 I can see all I did in 2009! Plus its nice to see the numbers summarized each week & month. You should use it too!!

Sooooo I have kind of disappeared lately.... sorry about that... ANYWAY on to the New Years goals!

But first an update.... I have been doing awesome! Mon/Wed/Fri I have been lifting and doing 30 min of cardio. Tue/Thur I have been running for 45-60 minutes! This has been going on since the week of Christmas! The good news, I have finally lost 3 lbs, the bad news... well I have stopped trying to lose weight- but it is OK. I am working hard eating healthy (although not sure its "low cal") and I am happy with my fitness level and achievements.

Now on to the goals.... Mostly to keep doing what I am doing, I don't want to burn out so I am trying new cardio things Monday and Friday. Sticking to good old running Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday. AND lifting in a much more organized and challenging way! I also am trying to only eat consciously- no more mindless munching, and not even realizing I am eating!

OK that's it! I know it is boring.... but what can I say.... I AM DOING AWESOME!!!! (now lets just see IF I can keep it up!). :)

Happy New Year!!

Okay, so it's a little late.... I've been wholly involved in reading Twilight for the last week and this is the first time I've come up for air, really. Seriously, a book a day...
it's been FANTASTIC!!!!

But, alas, reality will be beginning again in two days and since I don't have the option to become a vampire, I suppose I should get back to the whole weight loss regime!

The good news?

Apparently reading ferociously all day/night long curbed my appetite ten-fold! I didn't really keep track of POINTS over the last few weeks, but ate when I was hungry... which was never! So, as a result, I lost 5 lbs this week! Hooray!!!

The bad news?

Since all of my weight loss so far has been from mostly changing my dietary lifestyle, my muscle tone is pretty bad. Seriously! I look like I'm melting!! AND NOT IN A GOOD WAY! I really need to fix this!

My plan for January?

Well since I'm sooooo good at following thru with my exercise plans... I've decided to just try to do something, anything at least 3 times a week! Let's just start small and be realistic here, ok?!
